All teams must present proof of insurance BEFORE their first game - NO EXCEPTION!
Any team found without proof of coverage will be removed from the field immediately until such coverage can be presented. If a game is in progress, the game will be forfeited. If the team cannot present proof of insurance before their next game, the team will be removed from the tournament and NO REFUND will be issued.
Although Texas Tournament Baseball does not require USSSA insurance, teams need to fully understand the limits and/or exclusion of their policy.
For example, if a team is using their league's insurance they need to have a complete understanding of the policy (1) covers tournament play and/or (2) covers players NOT registered in the league, if applicable.
Most "group" policies (including USSSA) only covers "registered/rostered" players; therefore, if you have another sanctioning body's insurance policy and you have a different set of players that are not registered with the other sanctioning body, they may not be covered! In short, anything outside a USSSA policy or a USSSA event, the teams need to understand and ask questions.
Only USSSA registered teams may purchase USSSA insurance. USSSA team insurance covers the play and practice of amateur activities in the insured sport, including organized/sanctioned activities of other associations.
